MeetÂ
Shmuel Ben Yeshayahu (Fede)
Â
I’m a certified mindfulness meditation teacher and a guide for people navigating complex trauma, dystonia, and deep nervous system dysregulation. My work brings together Western psychology—especially attachment and developmental frameworks—with the wisdom of contemplative traditions and an experiential, subject-first approach to neurophysiology.
Â
I didn’t build this method from the comfort of theory.
I built it because my life depended on it.
Â
For much of my early years, my nervous system was in a state of progressive collapse. I spent years in bed, struggling to chew, speak, or walk without severe dystonic spasms. I lived with trigeminal neuralgia so intense it felt like my face was being electrocuted from the inside. My body was frozen in patterns I couldn’t think or stretch my way out of.
Â
And yet—I found my way back.
Not through one modality, but through a new understanding of how healing actually works.
The Core Insight: The Nervous System Heals in the Presence of Love
Â
What I discovered is that true reorganization of the nervous system requires more than exercises, protocols, or symptom management. It requires contact with something deeper:
Â
A love greater than us—ancient, intelligent, unbreakable.Â
When we learn to feel this love directly, in targeted and specific ways that meet our earliest wounds, the nervous system begins to reorganize toward symmetry, connection, and health. Muscles soften. Breath returns. Old survival patterns release.
Â
This is not metaphor.
It is physiology responding to safety, truth, and attunement.
Â
Â
An Innovative, Experiential Approach to Neurophysiology
Â
The Hope for Dystonia method is non-medical yet grounded in the logic of the body. Instead of treating symptoms, we work experientially—through deep embodiment—to access the parts of the nervous system that have been offline, ignored, or overwhelmed.
Â
This approach includes:
Â
- Direct cranial nerve engagement through carefully guided sensory exploration
- Attachment repair using ideal parent imagery and co-regulation principles
- Developmental psychology (including advanced stage models) to understand how the mind makes meaning
- Guided meditation and presence-based practice to reconnect you with your deeper nature
- Somatic re-patterning that teaches the body new ways of organizing movement and perception
- Trauma resolution that is gentle, specific, and attuned
- Neuroplasticity-based learning that rewires patterns at their root
This is not about “fixing” you.
It’s about unlearning the compensations your nervous system made to keep you alive—and learning patterns that allow you to thrive.
My Story, Briefly
Â
As I searched for answers, I noticed the same pattern everywhere: people were trying to heal using only one piece of the puzzle. Some worked on neuroplasticity but ignored cranial nerve function. Some worked on cranial nerves but ignored trauma. Some addressed trauma but had no tools to reorganize movement. Traditional medicine often focused on masking symptoms instead of changing the underlying pattern.
Â
So I created the method I wish someone had offered me.
Â
What followed changed my life.
I regained the ability to chew, speak, hike, teach, and live fully again.
And then I began helping others do the same.
Â
Today my work supports people around the world in reclaiming function, freedom, and connection—not only physically, but emotionally and spiritually.
Â
Â
How I Work
Â
Whether one-on-one or through the Hope for Dystonia Academy, I guide people through a carefully designed process that includes:
Â
-
Precise assessment of nervous system asymmetries
-
Targeted cranial nerve stimulationÂ
-
Trauma-informed guidance and attachment repairÂ
-
Meditation and compassion-based practicesÂ
-
Somatic and developmental integrationÂ
-
Deep reconnection to the love that is holding all of us
Â
Healing becomes not just possible, but natural—because we align with the way the nervous system is designed to reorganize when it feels truly safe.
Â
Â
My Mission
Â
I believe every person carries within them the blueprint for healing and wholeness. When we reconnect with the deeper field of love that has always held us, new possibilities emerge—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Â
My work is simply to help you find your way back to that truth, and to support your nervous system as it reorganizes around it.
About the Method
Â
The approach I use is rooted in a simple but radical idea:
your nervous system already knows how to heal — it just needs the right conditions, the right inputs, and the right kind of love.Â
Â
Most people live with patterns that were formed under stress, trauma, or asymmetry. These patterns are not “diseases” — they are adaptations. My work helps you gently unwind those adaptations and replace them with patterns that serve your health and your life.
Â
This happens through four interwoven elements:
Â
Â
1. Precise sensory activation of underused cranial and peripheral nerves
Â
Instead of relying on movement alone, we wake up the parts of the system your brain stopped using, so new possibilities become available.
Â
Â
2. Attachment repair and developmental integration
Â
Many dysfunctions are tied to early relational imprints. When we meet those places with attuned, targeted love, the nervous system softens and reorganizes with surprising speed.
Â
Â
3. Deep embodiment and experiential neurophysiology
Â
This is not intellectual therapy.
It’s not medical treatment.
It’s a participatory, inside-out process where you learn to inhabit your nervous system in real time and guide its re-patterning.
Â
Â
4. Meditative presence and spiritual grounding
Â
From Indo-Tibetan Buddhist mindfulness to Jewish contemplative traditions, we draw on practices that reconnect you with the deeper field of love that holds you.
This is where the real transformation comes from — the moment your body realizes it is no longer alone.
Â
Together, these elements create a powerful, integrated path for people with dystonia, functional neurological disorder, facial pain, trauma-based symptoms, and chronic dysregulation to reclaim movement, expression, and a sense of wholeness.
Â
No two journeys look the same.
But the process is always grounded in safety, precision, and a profound respect for the intelligence of your body.
